FOREST SCHOOL
Learning in the Natural Environment
Forest School is a key facet of our emphasis on learning outdoors. Every child in nursery enjoys a Forest School session every week. This runs right the way through the year, following the seasons and allowing children to apply and deepen their learning.
The seven areas of the EYFS curriculum is intertwined into all of our Forest School sessions. Regularly, we focus on areas of learning we have been exploring within the classroom – helping to consolidate our learning.
From creating natural art, building dens, making and flying our own kites, building bug hotels, and planting flowers, we have lots of opportunities to enjoy the benefits of learning outdoors.
Our pupils enjoy the opportunity to explore the natural world around them and learn how to take care of our environment. They learn independence and responsibility through their contribution for taking care of our shared space.
